Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common airsoft questions about safety, equipment, registration, and gameplay in Estonia.

What is airsoft?
Airsoft is a tactical team sport in which players use realistic-looking replica guns that fire 6 mm plastic BBs. Games simulate combat in forests, bunkers, buildings, and other terrain. It is safe, exciting, and develops teamwork, fitness, and strategic thinking.
Do I need prior experience to start playing airsoft?
No. Public events are open to beginners from the age of 13, and every event starts with a briefing that explains the rules, safety requirements, and game format. Beginner-friendly rental gear is available at many events.
Where can I get airsoft equipment?
You can buy equipment from Estonian airsoft stores or rent it on site at many events. For new players, rental gear is often the best way to start before making any larger purchase.
What is an FPS limit and why does it matter?
FPS, or feet per second, measures how fast a BB leaves the barrel. Events in Estonia use standard limits to keep the game safe and fair. A gun that shoots too fast can cause injury.
Which events are suitable for beginners?
Public game days are usually best for beginners because they combine experienced and new players. Festivals such as Spring Fest are larger in scale but are still open to newcomers as long as you understand the basic rules.
Is eye protection mandatory?
Yes. Eye protection is absolutely mandatory at all airsoft events. Certified goggles or a mask that meets at least ANSI Z87.1 or an equivalent standard are required. Without proper eye protection you will not be allowed on the field.
What happens when I get hit?
When you are hit, raise your hand, call "HIT!", and leave the field as instructed. Fair play is taken seriously in the airsoft community, and denying hits is not acceptable.
How do I register for an event?
All public events are listed on naissaareairsoft.ee. You can check dates, locations, ticket prices, and register online directly through the site.
How do Spring Fest and other festivals differ from regular games?
Festivals are larger, longer events that often last a full day or a full weekend. They include multiple missions, factions, NPC roles, and stronger narrative structure. Regular public games are shorter and simpler.
Can you play airsoft in winter?
Yes. Winter airsoft is very popular. Snow and cold add another tactical dimension to the game, but proper layered clothing and waterproof footwear are important.
